I've downloaded the Crysis 2 demo through Stream, but when I try to run it I immediately get the error message

Today, i downloaded the 1.9 patch for Crysis 2, the directX11 patch, and the high resolution textures patch. Everything was installed successfully. But when i run the game from the shortcut, it says: Failed to initialize the GameStartup Interface! What is causing this?
System specifications:
- Windows 7 64bit.
- Nvidia Geforce 250 GTS, with latest drivers.
- All other PC stats also matching or exceeding minimum requirements as specified in the Steam Store page.
